Re-opening to NYU students, staff, and faculty

On March 21, 2022, the Grey Art Gallery at New York University opened Mostly New: Selections from the NYU Art Collection, the museum’s first exhibition since it closed in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Grey Art Gallery is presently open only to current NYU students, staff, and faculty, due to New York University’s current policy to limit campus access for visitors. We hope to see all members of the public again soon. Please stay tuned for updates on our opening status.

We have made the following changes to our operations:

Visitor Entrance:
The Grey Art Gallery is housed within New York University’s Silver Center for Arts and Science. Please enter the Silver Center at either 31 Washington Place (ADA accessible entrance) or 32 Waverly Place, NYC 10003. Follow the signage to the Grey Art Gallery.
Note: The Grey Art Gallery’s main entrance on 100 Washington Square East is currently closed.

Current Hours:
Monday–Friday: 12:00–5:00 pm
Closed weekends. Also closed Memorial Day Weekend, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Weekend, and NYU’s Winter Recess (including Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day).

We cannot schedule or confirm any guided tours at this time. Please check back later for more information.

COVID-19 Protocols:
Visitors to the Grey Art Gallery must comply with NYU’s current policy on events, meetings, and gatherings. All visitors must complete the Daily Screener to access the museum. Everyone must wear a mask that covers both the mouth and nose at all times. Eating or drinking is not permitted inside the museum.
