Visitor Entrance:
Visitors should enter the museum at 100 Washington Square East, NYC 10003.
Current Hours:
Monday–Friday, 12:00–5:00 pm, and the following Saturdays, 12:00–5:00 pm: April 15, 2023; May 20, 2023.
Closed Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day Weekend, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Weekend, and NYU’s Winter Recess (including Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day).
Suggested Admission:
$5.00, Free to current NYU students, faculty, and staff
Directions:
Situated at the meeting point of SoHo and the East and West Villages, the Grey Art Gallery is easily reached by public transportation.
Subway: A, B, C, D, E, F, or M to West 4th Street; N or R local to 8th Street; 6 local to Astor Place; 1 local to Christopher Street.
Bus: M1, M2, M3, M5, and M6 to 8th Street.
Parking: View a list of neighborhood parking garages.
Accessibility:
The Gallery is accessible to people with disabilities. Please call 212/998-6780 for additional information.
Restrooms:
There are no public restrooms at the Grey Art Gallery. The closest public restroom is in Washington Square Park.

COVID-19 PROTOCOLS
All visitors must present proof of vaccination against COVID-19 and photo identification upon entering the museum. Documentation must show proof that the visitor has received an FDA-authorized or WHO-listed vaccine and is up to date on their vaccinations (including booster, if eligible). Masks are strongly encouraged. Eating or drinking is not permitted inside the museum.
We ask that you postpone your visit to the museum, regardless of vaccination status, if:
You have a fever or are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.
You’ve tested positive for COVID-19 within the past 14 days.
You’ve had close contact with anyone who is confirmed or suspected of having COVID-19.
You and everyone in your group, including children, must comply with the protocols described above. Noncompliance may result in removal from the building. Thank you for your cooperation.
GROUP VISITS
Planning to visit as a group? If there are 10 or more people in your party, please fill out one of the forms on our Group Visit page so we know how many people to expect and what specific needs and goals you may have for your visit.
All groups of 10 and above are asked to schedule their visit at least two weeks in advance. Groups without prior reservations may be denied admission.
Group visits are free for NYU students, faculty, staff, other college or university classes, and New York City K-12 school groups.
Please note: Group visits are available when the Grey is open to the public, Monday to Friday, 12–5 pm. Exceptions are sometimes possible for university or college classes that meet before 12 pm.
